NSD Recap

8:14 PM

I think it's time to get this blog back in action, what do you say?

National Scrapbooking weekend is coming to a close, and it really was a great one! I have heard so much buzz about Scrapbook Generation on the scrappy boards lately. I didn't know much about them except that they make kits and sketches that people love. I finally got to experience the hype for myself this weekend, and WOW they sure live up to it! I had so much fun chatting with everyone, there were really great hostesses and really great prizes! I don't think I've laughed that hard in quite some time. SG was super generous with their prizes. I won two classes that I'm so excited to play with! The talented Allison Davis does some fantastic sketches. I exclusively scrapbook one pagers but her two page sketches are so versatile that they easily translate into one! They also had some great challenges, here are my takes on a few of them!

Challenge 1:  Star Challenge Create star embellishments and use them on your layout (I designed and cut out the stars design on the black cardstock with my Cameo, then backed the negative with paper).

Challenge 2: Project Life Challenge Create a layout using an item intended for Project Life (the heart acrylic piece was a monthly divider that I cut up)

Challenge 6: Product Challenge Create a layout using 5 of these products: washi tape, chipboard, misting product, paint, metal charm, baker’s twine, brads, glitter glue, enamel dots, wood veneer, jewels, bingo card, flair (I chose  washi, mist, brads, enamel dots, and wood veneers).

Challenge 8: Manufacturer Challenge Make a layout using papers/embellishments from My Mind's Eye
Beyond Measure

Thank you SG for a wonderful NSD celebration and for providing us with these awesome challenges!

Besides chatting, I did some shopping and scrapping. Michael and I went to Craft Warehouse to get a few extra sheets of Maggie Holmes and to take advantage of the free Maggie Holmes album Make & Take. Michael participated too! I was so touched that he participated, how awesome is he?

Here is the book he made!

I am the luckiest girl in the world!

And, finally, here are the other non-challenge pages I did this weekend:

Thanks for joining me! For those who scrapbook, how did you celebrate NSD?
