Wonderful Layout with Chickaniddy

Tuesday, June 10, 2014

Hello there! I'm so excited to be sharing a layout about my favorite subject! If anyone has talked to me for more than 30 seconds, they know just how much I love to talk about my wonderful husband, Michael. He is my favorite thing to talk about, to scrapbook, to think about, and my favorite person to be with! 99% of my pages are about how wonderful he is, and this page is no exception! I was so excited to make a page about the man in my life using the Chickaniddy Crafts Date Night Collection.

Chickaniddy Supplies: Patterned Paper (DN14OS01, DN14OS02, DN14OS05, DN14OS10, DN14OS04, DN14OS08, DN14OS09); Stickers (TG14EB05, DN14EB02); Enamel Hearts (DN14EB07); (Foil Paper: (CN14SP002)
Other Supplies: Cut File (iheart studio for Two Peas in a Bucket), Washi Tape (My Mind's Eye)
I love how the silver foil paper makes this layout extra special! It is so striking and metallic in person--almost like a mirror!! I die cut my words using my Cameo, then a triangle punch and made a background. I also used my Cameo to die cut those fun hearts! I love all the elements that come with the Chickaniddy patterned paper! It makes embellishing so easy. The "My Kind of Guy" and flowers came from two of my favorite sheets! Patterned paper is my favorite embellishment. I seriously love that woodgrain background and I've had to restrain myself from using it on every single page! But a special layout deserved my favorite pattern.

Using the negative space of die cut words is a fun way to mix things up, and one of my favorite techniques. I challenge you to try it if you haven't already! Thanks for joining me today!
