Hello there! Earlier this year, my dear friend sent me some of the Crate Paper Wonder collection. I'd had my eye on it for awhile, but missed the boat when it was released. I was so excited to get some of it--especially the giant letter thickers! I'm such a thickers junkie, and especially can't resist the super unique ones. I picked up some iridescent modeling paste at Michael's to try my hand at some mixed media, and created this layout!

I thought the house elements in this collection were just perfect for a layout about buying our first home! This layout originally started as something completely different, but I scrapped it and started over, keeping only the patterned paper triangle with houses on it. I sewed down my layers for added texture, and then used the modeling paste with a stencil I picked up for $1.00 at Joann's! Next I added my photo and title, and kept the embellishing simple by reinforcing the heart and house elements. This layout was a fun experiment for me, and I enjoyed creating it!
